General Information

1. What is Connecting Communities?

Connecting Communities provides transport for all residents and visitors to and from Garve & District, Contin, Jamestown and Tarvie area.

You may travel alone or as a group but fares are paid for separately. If a booking is made via the App, we endeavour to pick up the passenger if the vehicle is operating nearby.

Need to access services in Dingwall, Strathpeffer or Inverness? Planning a day hill walking with a group of friends in the area and want a bespoke service with pick up from Dingwall or Inverness? Do you have a medical appointment in Inverness or nearby centre? Don’t like to bother family or friends? The Bus timetable does not fit your needs? Need a wheelchair adapted vehicle? Connecting Communities will get you there and back door-to-door.

2. Who can use it?

All residents and visitors to Garve & District, Contin, Jamestown and Tarvie area with a need for transport and who sign up to the membership.

3. Where can I travel using the service?

We typically take people to appointments in Dingwall or Inverness e.g to the doctor, dentist
and physio. But we also drive shoppers to the supermarket, friends to lunch, people to clubs and activities at our village halls. We even provide transport for travellers visiting the area linking with public transport (buses, trains, planes) or accessing recreational activities in the area such as cycling, hillwalking and fishing. We help parents take their children to school, job seekers to interviews and DWP appointments.

4. When can I travel?

The service is available Wednesday to Thursday 8am - 4pm and 8am - 2pm on a Friday.

5. How do I book CC Transport?

To book your journey you must first become a member.

Once you are a member you can download the free Moove Flexi app from iOS and Android
app stores which allows you 24/7 access to book and amend your travel. To book a lift, just
phone 07467 062200 or email us at transport@garve.org. The earlier you book the more likely we’ll be able to take you where you want and back again.

Pricing

1. What is the fare for using the service?

We have concessionary fares for residents and separate rates for visitors to the area. Please contact us and provide details of your journey (number of passengers pick up, drop off location etc) for prices. Payment is taken when boarding the vehicle. You may use a card or mobile phone to make payments. We do not accept cash.
